PUNK in the TRUNK

(Editor’s Note: This woman is not using her real name, as she has been in prison since 2012. She will be released in 2023, if all goes well.)

rosaHere is Rosa’s story in her own words:

Hola! Hola fuego del inferno!

I’m Rosa, 32 years old in 2013, single, no kids, 5’ 8,” 128 pounds, Latino, proud, and will be in prison for some time yet. I was the youngest of five children, my parents were common laborers, we were a poor family. My two brothers joined the Air Force, got well educated, they have good jobs. My two sisters worked hard, and both eventually married men with good jobs. As for me, I was wild, maybe loco, maybe stupid! When I was a teenager, I hooked up with a 23-year-old who belonged to a biker club. There were other girls close to my age too. We all drank beer and did various drugs. I could drink some men under the table! I became tough, I fought every female in the club of all ages, and I always won a fight. I even fought a few men! I was tough, beautiful, proud, and loyal to the club. Over the years, I took part in some crimes too. My family was the club. My familia! I never took part of any homicidio premeditado, No! No murder! But, as I look at my past, I know I should have come to prison years ago! Creo que estoy enfermo, sick of the life of a Diablo puta!

But now, I explain what it was that got me in prison. There was a young boy, 18 years old. He came to our club and wanted to join us—to join our cachiporra. The club took him in, but kept an eye on him and told him very little. During his first four months in the club, we had the police raid us several times. This was not normal. At a secret meeting, the club decided this boy is a “rat,” a snitch, an undercover policia! It was voted to eliminate this boy in a way that no one would know. I was not at this meeting, I had no knowledge of any of this at that time. The club called me in, when I arrived, they handed me the keys to a car. This car I had never seen before. I knew it must be stolen. I took the keys and was told to drive this car to a location that was quite remote. I had never been there before—a place in the wilderness. They walked me to the car, took the keys from me, opened the trunk, and there lay the boy—tied up, gagged, in the trunk. I then knew what was planned, and I was loyal to the club, loyal, yes! They slammed the trunk down, handed me the keys, told me to go now, as I walked to the front of the car, one of the men called my name. I turned to him, and he was pointing his pistol at me with a big smile. I smiled back at him, got in the car, and began the long journey—a two-hour drive.

As I drove, I thought only of the boy in the trunk. I drove, not one hour, not two hours, not even four hours, but more than that. I could not let them kill the boy! I came to a small city and my mind was not on driving, so I did not see a red light and ran it! Within seconds, a police car was behind me with his siren on—I wanted to speed away, but I was scared of what to do. I stopped the car, and the boy started to kick inside the trunk. The police pulled his pistol out, handcuffed me, then opened the trunk and called for back-up, as he helped the boy sit up. I was arrested for auto theft, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit murder.

When my trial in court began, the boy showed up to testify in my defense! He told the judge and the court that he heard everything and that I saved him by not driving him to the place of execution. This is why I did not get “life” or death penalty, but I got time for my part, my stupidity got me into prison, my loyalty to the wrong people got me in prison!

It was here in prison, I found a salvation tract, this tract was made by a prisoner and printed by Otto Ball of Hyde, PA. The title was, “Come on Down! The Price Is Death!” Those words and the artwork caught my eyes. I wanted to read it, and I did read it, and I found other similar tracts. I read them all. But one was titled, “If I Die Tonight, I Will Wake Up in H____.” And when I read it, the word came to my mind was, “Hell.” I was scared! I did not want to end up in Hell, I want the word, “Heaven,” to be there, not Hell! I read this tract. I could not get to sleep that night, as I was scared if I died in my sleep, I’d be in Hell for sure.

I kept reading the tracts over and over, as each one told me that Jesus Christ came to save me and that He died in my place, if I believe in only Him for salvation.

Even me? Rosa? The evil sinner that I am, Jesus Christ would want to save even me? All that I have done, He forgives me? Me? Rosa? I do not have to end up in Hell? Oh, my Lord and my God, my Savior Jesus Christ, I do believe it. I truly believe in you! In prison or out of prison, if I die, I will end up in Heaven! I am not the Devil’s whore! I am a child of God, forgiven, saved, full of joy, my life is new. I am a new creature in Christ!

Gracia a Dios! Dios Le guarde!
Your new hermana in Christ,
Rosa

The Roman Road

I had a pretty good opinion of myself until a friend invited me to take a walk down the Roman Road. He used a single book in the Bible to open my eyes to my relationship with God, and I haven’t been the same since.

He warned me that the trip might hurt, and he was right because he started by revealing my real status before God.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God… Romans 3:23.

Then I learned of sin’s penalty. For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23a

He went on to tell me that God loves me so much he offers an alternative called “Eternal Life” …but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ… Romans 6:23b.

Then he showed me how God provided his son Jesus as an atoning Sacrifice for my sin. Jesus took my penalty! But God commends his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

I wondered if God would accept me. He assured me with even more good news. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

My friend showed me what I should do to receive Eternal Life. That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved… Romans 10:9

We prayed, as I gladly accepted God’s gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.

Death has no hold on me!

My name is Noah Mukuka. I am presently 50 years old. I’m in prison on Death Row in a maximum security prison. This is my true story…

I was a police officer with 26 years of good service to the community. On the 10th of September 2010, while on duty, I received a report of stolen cattle. It was reported that unknown persons broke into the cattle’s housing area. Seven herds of cattle stolen. Acting on the report, I began to investigate, which led to the apprehension and arrest of three men. After much questioning, the men admitted the theft of the cattle. They agreed to lead me to the scene of the crime. After visiting the crime scene the men were being transported back to the police station. While driving down a steep slope, the men jumped from the vehicle to escape. The driver stopped the vehicle and I gave chase on foot to apprehend the three escapees. During this chase I stopped and fired two warning shots into the air. The men kept running. It was my duty to shoot and maim them, to bring them back alive to the police station. As they ran, I aimed at them and began to fire my rifle. I was aiming in a way to maim them. Due to the way they were changing directions, the bullets hit them in areas of their bodies that ended in their deaths. This was not my intention. I was only trying to maim them and bring them in alive.

On the 12th of September 2010, I was arrested and charged with the deaths of the escapees. I was later convicted and sentenced to death, where I now await on Death Row.

In all my life, I did not know or seek God. I was a beer-drinking man, just living my life.

On the 17th of July 2011, here in prison, a preacher man, a South Korean man of God who was with a prison fellowship group, came to us to preach to us about God, about Jesus Christ, about eternal life, that we are saved by God’s grace in Jesus Christ as the Book of Romans is so clear about. This man told us he comes to preach to us prisoners because he loves as God loves us and he wants us to be saved of our sins. He told us of the prisoner who was crucified next to Jesus, who was guaranteed a place in Heaven due to his trusting in Christ (see Luke 23:43). Of course another prisoner refused. His fate is an eternity of doom. We all, like the two crucified next to Christ, have a choice to make. We can accept or deny the work of Christ. To accept, results in eternal joy!

Up until that preacher talked to us, I had lost all hope, but after hearing the Gospel, I made the choice to place my faith in Christ that He paid for my sins. That preaching brought hope to me. It comforted me! I have since attended church services and I read the Bible. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).

It is a privilege and an eternal honor to now be a child of God. I’m so grateful to God, to Jesus. My hope is that people anywhere in the world would read my true story and seek God by understanding what the Bible tells us, and it is surely called ‘Good News’ for a reason.

If anyone wishes to write to me, I am:

May you let God bless you by trusting in Jesus Christ for your eternal life!
I thank Paul Bero for helping get my true story to you. I thank the ministry that prints this tract. I thank South Korean preacher for caring about prisoners. I thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His sacrifice that saved me!

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“…the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17)

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”(2 Corinthians 5:21)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(1 John 1:9)

“… The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”(Mark 1:15)

And what is the Gospel…the Good News we are to believe?…

“Jesus saith… I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”(John 14:6)

“Jesus said… I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”(John 11:25-26)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”(2 Corinthians5:17)

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”(John 3:36)

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Glory to thee, our God, glory to thee.

O heavenly King, O Comforter, the Spirit of truth, who art in all places and fillest all things; Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and dwell in me and cleanse me from every stain, and save my soul, O gracious Lord.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal: have mercy on me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

All-holy Trinity, have mercy on me. Lord, cleanse me from my sins. Master, pardon my iniquities. Holy God, visit and heal my infirmities for thy Name’s sake.

Lord, have mercy.

Time = Love: By Phillip Bailey

A Simple Way to Reach the Forgotten with Christ’s Love

Our lives are often consumed in daily routines that keep us constantly busy. The days, months, and years relentlessly march on as we look  back and wonder where it all went. Many of us have friends and families, co-workers and church groups that keep us fully occupied. It seems that everyone close to us is vying for our time and unfortunately, as life goes on we have less and less of it to give.

So when someone from our inner circle is struggling in their faith, having family problems, fighting temptations, or dealing with grief, we have on problem showing our love and support by taking the time to reach out and help. We do this in many ways by offering a few kind words, giving some much-needed advice, engaging in Bible study together, or sharing a prayer. More often than not, it’s the small simple things in life that end up meaning the most to the people around us.

But I wondered; how many of our good works bear fruit outside the small circles that encompass our lives? Do we spend any of our time to reach out to those who are truly unapproachable? This week I couldn’t help but think of all the people who are rejected in our society. My thoughts were with the outcast, and the ones that a lot of us either don’t, or would rather not notice.

I took to prayer and asked the Lord to reveal his teaching about the thoughts and questions that were in my heart. Turning into scripture, I quickly learned that Jesus invites the tax collectors and sinners. (Matthew 9:9-10) and in verse 12, he tells us why: “those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” Jesus is the champion of all who are rejected and outcast. It’s a good thing too, because not one of us is without sin, even if were fooled into believing otherwise.

When I think of the many downtrodden in the world today, I think of all those who live their lives behind bars. Did you know that tonight in America 2.3 million men and women are incarcerated? That’s more than the current population of San Diego, California and Detroit, Michigan combined!

Of this vast number, more than a few do not have any friends, family or church groups on which they can rely. For these, there won’t be very many kind words spoken tonight, and probably no helpful advice on how to live life beyond the walls. Some will have Bible studies and most will pray, but this rarely translates into a committed walk with Christ once they get out. The sad fact is, a lot of these men and women, will come home in worse shape than they went in, and some won’t come home at all.

Besides the obvious failings of our criminal justice system, I think the thing lacking most is a message of hope. Will you help fill that void this month and spare some of the time I was referring to earlier? I would like to urge each one of you to send an anonymous letter consisting of a prayer, copy of your favorite scripture, an encouraging story, anything you deem appropriate and that’s uplifting. It’s easy to find an inmate locator on the web for any state you choose. This will give you names, ID numbers, addresses, and photos. (Talk about a captive audience)!

All joking aside, to someone who is incarcerated, a simple anonymous letter can mean the world. It says to that person, “someone who doesn’t even know me took the time to do this.” It’s a message that they were not lost and forgotten. It’s a message that there is still love and hope in the world. You have the power to change the course of a person’s life you don’t even know. Remember, we don’t need anyone to recognize our charitable deeds. Besides, the ones who seek glory from men have their reward.

Unlike the Pharisees, let us embrace the tax collectors and sinners. I want to thank you for taking the time to consider my plea, because tonight while you are at home reading this I unfortunately will be one of the 2.3 million who can’t.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Stretch our vision beyond the walls that divide and separate us. Let the light of your Son Jesus Christ shine brightly in our lives as we reach out to those in need. If it be your will, oh Lord, let our letters soften the hard heart. Renew the hope of those who suffer in failure and disappointment. And let the fire of Your love inspire faith through our Lord Jesus Christ…….. Amen.

I began writing to those in prison in 2000. I was planning on going into a prison with Yokefellow Ministry. I wanted to learn more about those on the inside and felt the best way to know what inmates go through would be to write some of them. I would never of imagined writing to so many of them. Last count we have heard from over 2200 inmates. I answer every letter that is written to us. I was a volunteer at a state prison for ten years Sept 11, 2001 till Jan 2011. I always loved testimony time so now we have over 100 testimonies from those we write to, and share them with those we write to. We received many more than we could use but are truly thankful to all that have taken their time to share them with us. We also have Con-Tracts, tracts created by cons. We have over 100 of them as well.

Being I have been at this for a good while I have learned a few things. First not one inmate who has gotten out of prison has come to our house. We do have a post office box but with google it is easy to find us. One did get out and googled our info and he called us. I enjoyed hearing from him. I get asked a lot for financial help from those I write to but being I write to so many I can’t offer them help. I have no problem telling them the truth. I wish I could do more but I can’t so I don’t let that get in our way.

I offer fellowship and I stuff an envelope so that it weighs 2 ounces. I get many different tracts from a number of different ministries. So they get not only my letter but lots to read. That which I share with them is often then shared with others. That helps us reach more of those on the inside.

I also give addresses of other ministries so that they may obtain Bible studies, Tracts, books, a Bible.

I often give out a message that an evangelist sends us. At first he thought all he could afford to send was 25 but soon he began getting letters from inmates telling them how much they appreciate his messages. He now sends us 3 big packets each month.

I give out lots of tracts. One tract ministry offers 30 tracts a month encouraging people to give out a tract a day. Last I heard from Carl from Bezeugen tract ministry ,over 40 inmates have signed up already.

I heard from a former inmate who had been on death row . He was out of prison and he and I talked on the phone. He said one day he got a postcard from a stranger all it had was a name signed on the postcard. It meant a lot to him knowing at least someone had thought of him and dropped a post card. Mail to an inmate helps them know someone cares.

God Bless you.

The DAY I WON! Testimony of Carlinda M, New York prisoner

Hey you all!

My name is Carlinda. I’m a 46-year-old American of African heritage. I’ve been in prison for six years now for doing ‘great bodily harm, less than murder.’

My daddy taught me how to play poker, how to cheat at poker, and how to win at poker, and he taught me well! I’ve been dealing and playing poker since I was nine years old, so I know what I’m doing! My daddy taught me how to take care of myself too.

It was a Friday night, and I had a good game going in my apartment; five younger brothers, a white guy about 40 years old, and myself. There was a lot of money on the table, a whole lot of money! I should have let it go, but I decided to draw one. I thought it would help me. I messed up. Now all I can do is try to bluff everyone. And, I did. I bluffed. The man who could have won, threw in his hand. I won the pot! One of the younger guys drew a gun, said I was cheating. He did not know I had a knife taped under the table. I sliced his leg up real bad. His gun went off, two city cops were right outside and ran up. I was arrested and given eight years for the assault and weapon.

I started to go to Protestant-Baptist church services at the prison. My granny used to take me when I was six years old. I began to sing in the choir too. My singing, if you pardon the expression, ‘drew a full house’.

Yes, I laid down the cards, I picked up the Bible. On that day I really won! Thank you Jesus, for saving a wretch like me! Hallelujah!

HOW TO WIN IN THIS LIFE… AND FOR ETERNITY !

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17)

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)

“Jesus said… I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

 Lord Jesus,

I confess that I have sinned against God and am a sinner. Right now, I repent and turn from my sins. I believe that You died for my sins, were buried, and rose again the third day from death, that I may have eternal life through you. I open my heart and life to You now, and receive You as my personal Savior and Lord. I claim this free gift of eternal life, and thank You for saving me now and giving me a new life in You.

In Your Name I pray, Amen.

Set Free From Tobacco! The Testimony of Glenn E. Manus

September 22, 1992 was just another day in the ‘chain gang’, yet a grand opportunity for the Lord Jesus Christ who rescued me from the chains of bondage to tobacco.

Well, I’m getting ahead of myself. My name is inmate Glenn E. Manus # 722383, fresh into a life with mandatory 25 years, plus a consecutive 25 years sentence in Florida; where parole is like hitting the lottery back to back. So there wasn’t much to look forward to, which made trying to quit smoking even tougher. The harder I tried to stop, the greater the urge to smoke! I’d started dipping tobacco to help not smoke, then smoking to stop dipping; to smoking and dipping at the same time! I had it bad and was praying for God to help me… take it from me… anything!

Some very long stories but a very real and living God has done many miracles in my life and has been so very good to me, but I allowed unforgiveness and bitterness against people who really hurt me to chain my broken heart, dragging me deeper and deeper in drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex addiction, and all kinds of sin that separated me from my first and only true love, Jesus, until I ended up below the bottom of the barrel of life in prison, scheduled forever. But I found even there that the Lord was patiently waiting with His arms wide open, never giving up on me!

Day-in, day-out behind prison walls is hard to explain, but in short, it’s another world! ‘ Pressure’ of many kinds, bottled up emotions, mixed up feelings and attitudes (yours and everyone else’s around you) frustrations unimaginable, coping with ‘doing time’, powerless of even simple things we take for granted until locked in a cage or like a big fishbowl community where everyone watches everyone else for all the ‘angles’; your words, actions, what you read or don’t read, who you talk to, about what or whom you avoid, your body language, if you get visits, mail or money or if you don’t have anyone that cares – everything is analyzed and shared to size you up to avoid or try to exploit.

Every guard seems to have their own rules and ways, depending on the mood they’re in, as a zoo of personalities, one extreme to another all pressed together, stripped of everything, to even replace your identity with a number and uniform. They now even paint lines to follow but back then, officers would watch and if you stopped to look around or talk they blow whistles and yell to keep moving, along with a string of verbs, adjectives and a few nouns to help motivate and show you the error of your ways in flying colors. But here I was, just another day coming out of our chow hall after lunch, so it was midday and bright outside when I heard this booming voice that sounded like out of the sky…’You are lying to Me!’ I froze and couldn’t move or breathe! I was right in front of guards. I could hear their whistles and ‘directions’ but no one saw me standing there in the middle of the sidewalk!

Again the five words that changed my life…” You are lying to me!” This lightning bolt of energy charged through me. After a while, my heart finally slowed enough I could breathe, my mind and tongue managed to connect, yet still not fully comprehending what was happening but somehow I squeaked out… ‘What am I lying about… Lord?’ Gee- I am really sharp! Anyways, God didn’t candy-coat it but right to the point –‘I see your deepest thoughts, desires and motives. From your head you are praying for My help to quit smoking, but in your heart you really want it, you enjoy it, you are hanging on to it! You only hate the negative side effects and consequences yet you enjoy and want the sin! Until your head and heart line up to My Word you will be unstable in all your ways. You are double minded and lying to Me!’

Wow! God has spoken to me before, telling me how He loved me and things that helped rescue me out of some deep pits of life but this stern rebuke rocked me to the core of my being! From deep down inside my voice came asking God to forgive me… ‘I repent, Father God, in Jesus Name have mercy! I had no idea I was lying to You! I choose this day to give to You all forms of tobacco yet I know I don’t have the will or strength to keep this choice, so I surrender it to You and ask for Your grace to help me keep this choice! I can’t do it without You!’

The heavy presence lifted and I was a new man! I knew I was completely set free inside and never touched it again! I can’t even believe I ever used that stuff let alone addicted to that poison that was killing me. God changed me inside and out!

I’ve struggled with smoking since I was four years old, taking dad’s Lucky Strikes non-filtered cigarettes, copying him but became hooked right away. As a lot of long stories from a young boy, going through things that drove me on a death wish with a deep rage inside consuming me somewhere I found that tobacco and alcohol helped but then drugs took over controlling me that brought temporary peace until more and more was needed with wilder and crazier living – no one could understand me or what was wrong with me.

I know firsthand many extremes and that no matter what the problem, heartbroken, habits and addictions, demonic issues, all the bondage is to sin – that God is real, His Word is the ultimate truth, and He Loves You far greater than you can ever imagine, and is waiting with His arms wide open for you! Any time you can call unto Him, just like talking to your very best friend and tell Him all your heart and He will never reject you, but understands perfectly and He cares!

A loving God doesn’t condemn people to Hell for doing bad things nor can doing good or religious ways get us into Heaven; as it all depends on whose family we belong to that determines your eternal destination and receive your inheritance in one of only two places; as well as what directs the quality of your life today.

In the beginning, God created everything and it was good. Then He gave Adam and Eve authority to rule over everything in this Kingdom called Earth which He made for them to live forever, in perfect peace with the relationship with Him as their Creator and also loving Father. But Satan, once a beautiful angel, now fallen and kicked out of heaven with one third of the rebel angels, he lied to trick Eve, and this deception caused Adam and Eve and the whole world, to come under Satan’s authority; bringing the curse of sin and death, corrupting their perfect nature, now separating them and all born, from God. Satan stole their ‘power of attorney’ using God’s authority and now they are powerless over this new life controlling their emotions and bringing death. So now when we die we are trapped to be stuck with him where he’s forever away from our loving God and Creator.
This broke God’s heart Who chose to rescue us Himself! But the payment for our life was death. God can never die. So God humbled Himself, took on the human body, which was beaten, tortured until death on a cross to pay for our sin and made a way for us to be adopted into His family by faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach) the ultimate Sacrifice as foretold; so we would know our God the Creator loves us and never gave up on us!

The Bible was written so we can know our history, choose our destiny, while experiencing His love and victory over Satan, through Jesus for eternity!
The choice is yours. The power to keep that choice is His. Together, we can have real life and hope to be with Him forever!

Seoul Soul Saved

Seoul savedHello fellow citizens of planet earth!

My name is Dami and am a 32-year-old South Korean woman, now living in the U.S.A., working at becoming a citizen.  I wish to share my story at becoming a citizen.  I wish to share my story with anyone willing to accept my words.

I have been on my own now for the past 12 years.  My parents and my brother were killed in an auto accident in South Korea when I was 20 years old.  That event was very difficult for me to accept and I went into deep depression.  I was in college with a business degree as my goal.  With my family’s sudden deaths, my life stopped.  Nothing meant anything to me, nothing was worth living to me.

At this point in my life, I searched for a way to end my life, but I wanted it to end in my sleep… to go peacefully, not even knowing I am gone, just gone!

I studied medical books very hard, and learned all I could on how I could overdose, just go to sleep and to never wake up.  After weeks, I located people who did supply me with two medicines, enough to cause me to go into a deep, eternal sleep.  I packed up my worldly possessions and donated them to needy people.  I planned my “last supper,” as that night I would no longer exist, my pain and loneliness would be gone.  I went for a walk in the park at 2 P.M.  I loved to smell the flowers, are beautiful to look at, and the warm sun and fresh air just seemed to fill me with a joy.

A beautiful bird began to sing in the bush next to me.  It seemed to be singing just for me.  Then, to my surprise, an elderly woman was standing next to me.  I did not see or hear her walk up to me.  She greeted me, and she said, “Isn’t the world that God made very beautiful?”  I was silent, as she stood looking at me.  She put her hand on my back, and I felt a strange warmth fill my body.  She said, “God gave us all good things, please enjoy them into your old age.”  The bird sang louder, the sun got warmer, the breeze got stronger, and the flowers smelled so good, as I turned to watch the colorful bird sing.  I turned back to the old woman, but she was gone.  I did not see her walk away, but she must have!  I ran to see where she was, but she was nowhere to be seen.

I began to walk back to my apartment.  Along the way, an elderly man was walking the opposite way and had a smile on his face.  He said, “Jesus loves you!”  He handed me a folded piece of paper, I felt “strange” when I stared into his eyes.  I kept walking to my apartment, I still heard the bird singing, I still smelled the flowers.

In my apartment, I looked at the paper that the old man gave me.  It said that it was a “salvation tract.”  I had no idea what that was.  I began to read it.  It was printed in the U.S.A.  It told how Adam and Eve sinned, how God was not obeyed, that mankind was created to live forever, but sin brought death and the punishment of Hell, a place of torment.  It went on to tell how much God still loved mankind, and how God sent His special one-of-a-kind, sinless Son in human form go give himself as a sacrifice to save those who place their faith 100 percent in Jesus Christ.

Then, it gave what they called “The Roman Road to Salvation,” and as I read it, the aroma of flowers filled me, and the warmth of the sun was around me, the sound of birds singing filled my mind, and the thought of the old woman and the old man came back to me.

I ran to the cabinet and grabbed the envelope of pills that I planned to take that night.  I washed them down the sink, and I cried!  And cried.  And cried.  And, I shouted to God and told Him that I am a sinner.  I then apologized to God and told Him that I would trust that Jesus Christ gave up His life to save me!  The birds stopped singing, and the aroma of flowers was gone.  The warmth of the sun was not there.  I was not depressed and was not sad.  I found real peace, real joy, because God forgave me!  I am saved!

Since that day, I got educated and have a good job.  I live in the USA now.  I am saved!  I am so blessed, so happy, and so full of joy!

People tell me what happened to me was either a miracle from God or my imagination.  They tell me that it has not happened to anyone else like that.  Well, it did happen to me that way!  I have read and studied the Bible ever since that day.

Reader… SEEK GOD! God is real!  Jesus Christ is Savior.  God bless you… as He did me.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God… Romans 3:23

Then I learned of sin’s penalty.

For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23a

He went on to tell me that God loves me so much he offers an alternative called “Eternal Life” …but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ… Romans 6:23b.

Then he showed me how God provided his son Jesus as an atoning Sacrifice for my sin. Jesus took my penalty! But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

We prayed together, and I gladly accepted God’s gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.

The artist who drew the artwork of an artist creating a character has a definite creativity talent. He is the creator of his masterpiece.

I personally have met many people who do not believe in God. They believe that everything in the universe came about during an explosion! But what exploded? You cannot explode nothing! And, if you have nothing, how does it explode? Those kinds of questions give me a big headache about the ‘Big Bang’.

Let’s try something: can you borrow a powerful firecracker from someone, and a match. Okay, got it? Now, go get a child’s plastic toy, put the firecracker under it, light the firecracker, stand back,’ bang’ (that was our ‘Big Bang’ if you didn’t notice). Okay, go and inspect it… I’ll wait… I have patience (sometimes!)… Okay, what did you find? A bunch of broken pieces of plastic and pieces of burned paper. That’s it? Nothing else? Look again! I’ll wait… Okay, you found nothing but destruction! Now, go and purchase 3,000 firecrackers, some matches and 3,000 assorted toys made of plastic. One at a time, explode the toys and keep inspecting until all are blown up. Surely you can find something! No? Only more destruction! Hmmm….. then how can nothing explode and it ends up with stars, planets, water, trees, living things, rainbows, flowers, and nice smelling things! Explain, please!

Now I hope I have your attention! Look around you. Start with nature if you want to. Everything in nature shows creativity. A flower comes from a seed. The flower has a stem that raises the beautiful petals up towards the sun that helps it to grow. It took planning. It took thinking for a flower to be created.

What about men and women? It took a creative mind to come up with a way for a sperm and an egg to join inside of the body to form a baby, that cute baby who grows into an adult. That is creative planning. It did not just happen when ‘nothing’ blew up!

Think on this: man can take a tree, cut it down, slice it into boards, get some nails, and create a beautiful home. But, can a man take a bag full of nothing and build anything? No! This is where God enters the picture.

There must be a God. It is the only logical answer to the universe and to life. There simply is no other solution! Open the Bible up. Page 1 of the Bible tells it all. ‘In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…’ You see, God made it simple for us to understand. There is God, always was God. God is the only One Who had no beginning. Complex, yet simple! It is the only solution that works. Yes, the first sentence on page one of the Bible tells at all. Accept it or not, that is up to you. God tried to clear it up by making it so simple any child can understand it, yet grown men want to believe what actually makes no sense at all!

There is God. God is Creator! If you want more information about our Creator, please visit a Bible-believing church and read a Bible. It’ll do you good! Then, if you still do not believe in God, well, you will someday! Be prepared! Know the truth!

Come and dwell in me and cleanse me from every stain, and save my soul, O gracious Lord.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal: have mercy on me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

All-holy Trinity, have mercy on me. Lord, cleanse me from my sins. Master, pardon my iniquities. Holy God, visit and heal my infirmities for thy Name’s sake. Lord, have mercy.

What Did You See?

[To those that were there] I would ask, ‘If you had been standing in front of that cross on that day, what did you see?’

Man # 1: I saw a blasphemer get what He deserved.

Man # 2: I saw a wretched, evil Man hanging.

Man # 3 I saw a @#*&^!, the dirty dog.

Man # 4: I saw a crazy One on in that cross.

Man # 5: I saw the One I spit on, die there.

Man # 6: I saw the One we wanted to stone to death, but He got His!

Woman # 1: I saw the One who healed people.

Woman # 2: I saw the One who had never met me, but knew my past.

Woman # 3: I saw the One who taught with authority in the synagogue.

Woman # 4: I saw my Son, beaten, tortured, hung to die, my Son!

To the streets in 2018, showing an artist’s drawing of Christ on the cross I ask, ‘What did you see?’

Man # 1: I see what happens to crazy people who think they are God.

Man # 2: I see what they call Jesus on a cross, I guess.

Man # 3: I’m late for a meeting. I have no time for you religious nuts!

Man # 4: I see what punishment awaited criminals in the old days.

Man # 5: I see the devil must have won!

Man # 6: Is that a famous painting? I guess I see something worth money. Am I right?

Woman # 1: Yeah, my grandma has a cross on her bedroom wall. I guess I see that.

Woman # 2: I see a Man put to a horrible death.

Woman # 3: I see God’s grace and Christ’s sacrifice for us.

I think that most people in the world today might give a fairly accurate response, and, yes, some would seem happy that Jesus got what He ‘deserved’. But, think about it, if you had been there, be you man, woman, boy or girl; what did you see?

And what did you think? This Man ready to take His final breath, a man of only 33 years, a Man Who worked hard as a carpenter for many years. A Man who eventually left His home with nothing, going town to town, preaching, healing, revealing wisdom, warning of times yet to come, feeding thousands with a mere handful of food; a Man Who stumped those trying to trick Him, a Man Who offered things like peace, joy, freedom, and most of all, salvation and eternal life!

Had you been there in those days He walked this earth, would you have believed Him or merely mocked him? And what about today? This very day, as you read this message, do you, today, believe Him? His message is for you, for today! He gave up His life to save you. The only ‘work’ that He requires of you is that you believe that you trust in Him 100%. (And that you confess our sins and turn from them towards His loving grace). That is all He asks of you!

God knows us humans all too well. God knows of our sinful pride. Our pride tries to make us believe that we can ‘work’ our way to heaven, but the only ‘work’ God will accept from us is our 100% faith that Christ died for us to save us from Hell and to get us into His Kingdom. (And that we confess our sins and turn from them towards His loving grace). Please read the book of Romans in the Bible a few times, so that you truly see what Christ did for us, by God’s grace.

For now, check out this condensed version and be saved today!

I Give to My Friend

In 1968 I was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB in Michigan. It was here I received orders to report to Thailand. This was during the Vietnam War. A short time later, my orders were changed from Thailand to Anchorage, Alaska. But before that happened, I made a point to talk to every person I could find who had served in Vietnam or Thailand. I wanted to know as much as possible.

i give to my friend con-tractWhile at a healthcare appointment I met a medic who had returned from duty in Vietnam. His name was Raymond. I’m not sure if it was his first or last name, but he talked to me and told me this story…

A village in the Vietnam War zone had been hit by mortar shells and bombs. Raymond was one of many medics, nurses, and others to rush into the village to care for any who have been injured by the explosions. Raymond found a young girl, he thought she was probably 9, 10, or 11 years old. She was severely injured and was losing blood. She needed a transfusion as quickly as possible or she would die of her loss of blood.

Villagers that knew the girl stood nearby hoping that the girl would live. One big problem was that none of the military could speak Vietnamese, and the villagers did not understand English. Somehow one of the nurses got the people to understand the girl needed someone to give blood to save the girl, but no one stepped up to volunteer; until a boy, probably 10 years old stepped forward, looking very scared. He held out his arm, pointed to his arm, then pointed to the girls arm. He was nervously showing that he would donate blood to save the girl. The boy got up on the table; laid down, his body shaking with fear. His blood began to flow through the tube into the girls arm.

After, the girl showed signs she would live, and the boy’s blood saved her from death; Raymond saw a Vietnamese nurse who had arrived, and she was speaking in broken English. Raymond asked her to thank the boy and tell the boy he saved the girl’s life. Raymond then asked the nurse to ask the boy why he seemed so scared. The boy took several minutes to tell the nurse why he had been so scared. It turned out that the boy thought the medics would drain all of the blood out of his body. He thought he was going to die! Raymond let out a little laugh, and then asked if the boy thought he was going to die, why did he volunteer in the first place? The boy explained to the nurse that the girl was a friend of his and he did not want his friend die, so he thought it better if she lived and he died!

In those days, I was not a Bible believing Christian, so Raymond’s story did not really mean much to me. In 1984 I carefully read the New Testament of the Bible; and one day, Raymond’s story simply ‘rang a bell’ in my mind! The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ, the Word of God, took on a human body, came to this Earth as the only acceptable, sinless human, to give up His life for us sinners (all other humans). Just as the little dying girl was a friend of the boy, God considers all humans His friends. Just as the boy let his blood flow into the girl, Christ’s blood flowed out to save us. Just as the girl’s body had to accept the boy’s blood to live, we must 100% accept that Jesus Christ gave up His life for us; and He rose from the dead as proof that He conquered sin and death. Just as the girl did not die, we who place 100% faith in Christ will never die. Yes, these bodies will give out, but we will be in God’s Kingdom, and one day we will have a new body. We will live eternally in joy; no death, no sin, no tears, no pain, no aging, no taxes!

Those who reject Christ’s sacrifice will face the second death; eternal separation from God in a place of torment. It is a choice only we can make. Please study the book of Romans; this tells of God’s grace and Christ’s sacrifice. Choose the only way to God, choose life! God bless you!

All about the birds and the bees

When I was growing up all I would hear is “Have you heard about the birds and the bees?” All the kids would be talking about the BIRDS AND THE BEES. Adults would be asking; “DID YOU TELL YOUR KID ABOUT THE BIRDS AND THE BEES?” To be quite honest I never did understand the big deal about it! Even today, I’ll bet you saw the tract and thought “OH BOY, THE BIRDS AND THE BEES!” None of it ever made any sense to me! Well, I was watching TV the other day and this lady asked another lady, “HEY DON’T YOU KNOW ABOUT THE BIRDS AND THE BEES?” Why, oh why is this such a curious subject? Well, I finally decided to do some research and end the famous mysteries of the BIRDS AND THE BEES! I am not going to hold back, I am going to tell it like it is! Don’t read this if you cannot handle the facts! Don’t read any further if you cannot handle the truth! If you feel a little nervous maybe you should stop here! This information is not intended for everyone, be sure you can handle the facts! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Now, after much reading and research I have found the following to be true facts:

Birds have feathers, bees don’t. Bees have stingers, birds don’t. Birds whistle pretty tunes, bees don’t. Bees have more legs than birds. Birds eat grains, bees don’t. Bees don’t like cold weather. Some birds eat worms, bees don’t. Birds like bird baths, bees don’t even have bee baths! You know, I wrote a list of 843 differences between the BIRDS AND THE BEES and I still don’t see what the big fuss is! I sure do hope that this helped you all!

One other thing that I researched and found to be TRUE was that the Bible is the Word of God. I discovered that when God created the world, Adam and Eve, the parents of the entire human race, disobeyed God. They ate from a special tree that God told them not to touch! As soon as Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they began to have all the problems we now have. They began to grow older. They would get sick. They would get diseases. They had to pull weeds out of the gardens they’d planted. They would get bitten by mosquitoes. They would feel pain and one day, they would no longer be alive. They got the whole shebang of bad stuff! Worst of all, they could no longer  be in God’s presence! The Bible tells us that even though God had to do these things to Adam and Eve, and to all of their offspring, God still loved them all! But God knew that humans were just notable to keep from sinning, every human that ever lived or that will ever live will sin! What would God have to do to save man from hell and to allow humans into His Kingdom again? Well, there was only ONE thing that God would accept, a SINLESS OFFERING. So, God sent His only special Son into the world, as a payment for what we owed. Yes, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to earth as a human, without sin, and He went to that old rugged cross and He then gave up His life to save us. THAT IS LOVE, GOD’S LOVE! The only thing that God requires from us is to truly believe that Jesus PAID FOR OUR SINS.

I urge YOU, TODAY; understand that you are a sinner, totally separated from God. There is not one or one million good deeds you could ever do to get into Heaven. The ONLY WAY is faith in Jesus Christ! Find a Christian to talk to, one that is active in a bible believing church or call a Pastor of a Bible believing church. Turn to God today, the ONLY WAY God will accept, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
