My name is Noah Mukuka. I am presently 50 years old. I’m in prison on Death Row in a maximum security prison. This is my true story…
I was a police officer with 26 years of good service to the community. On the 10th of September 2010, while on duty, I received a report of stolen cattle. It was reported that unknown persons broke into the cattle’s housing area. Seven herds of cattle stolen. Acting on the report, I began to investigate, which led to the apprehension and arrest of three men. After much questioning, the men admitted the theft of the cattle. They agreed to lead me to the scene of the crime. After visiting the crime scene the men were being transported back to the police station. While driving down a steep slope, the men jumped from the vehicle to escape. The driver stopped the vehicle and I gave chase on foot to apprehend the three escapees. During this chase I stopped and fired two warning shots into the air. The men kept running. It was my duty to shoot and maim them, to bring them back alive to the police station. As they ran, I aimed at them and began to fire my rifle. I was aiming in a way to maim them. Due to the way they were changing directions, the bullets hit them in areas of their bodies that ended in their deaths. This was not my intention. I was only trying to maim them and bring them in alive.
On the 12th of September 2010, I was arrested and charged with the deaths of the escapees. I was later convicted and sentenced to death, where I now await on Death Row.
In all my life, I did not know or seek God. I was a beer-drinking man, just living my life.
On the 17th of July 2011, here in prison, a preacher man, a South Korean man of God who was with a prison fellowship group, came to us to preach to us about God, about Jesus Christ, about eternal life, that we are saved by God’s grace in Jesus Christ as the Book of Romans is so clear about. This man told us he comes to preach to us prisoners because he loves as God loves us and he wants us to be saved of our sins. He told us of the prisoner who was crucified next to Jesus, who was guaranteed a place in Heaven due to his trusting in Christ (see Luke 23:43). Of course another prisoner refused. His fate is an eternity of doom. We all, like the two crucified next to Christ, have a choice to make. We can accept or deny the work of Christ. To accept, results in eternal joy!
Up until that preacher talked to us, I had lost all hope, but after hearing the Gospel, I made the choice to place my faith in Christ that He paid for my sins. That preaching brought hope to me. It comforted me! I have since attended church services and I read the Bible. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).
It is a privilege and an eternal honor to now be a child of God. I’m so grateful to God, to Jesus. My hope is that people anywhere in the world would read my true story and seek God by understanding what the Bible tells us, and it is surely called ‘Good News’ for a reason.
If anyone wishes to write to me, I am:

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal: have mercy on me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
All-holy Trinity, have mercy on me. Lord, cleanse me from my sins. Master, pardon my iniquities. Holy God, visit and heal my infirmities for thy Name’s sake.
Lord, have mercy.
